Value #1: We CELEBRATE the good news of Jesus Christ because it has transformed our lives.

We CELEBRATE the good news of Jesus Christ because it has transformed our lives.

The good news of Jesus answers four questions:

  1. Where did we come from?
  2. What is our problem?
  3. What is the solution to that problem?
  4. How can I be a part of the solution?

This good news transforms lives. We explain it and celebrate it at every Central Kids event.

Where did we come from?

We came from God. God created all things including people. He is a good God that tells us how to live a good life. He created everything and has the right to tell us what to do. He loves goodness and righteousness while hating evil and sin. This is a wonderful and good thing. If God loved evil and sin, he would not be good.

What is our problem?

There is a problem. The problem is with people. We do bad things. We disobey God. The Bible calls that sin. It also says that “all have sinned.” Every person in the entire world has a sin problem. What that means is that we are doing the things that God hates. God hates sin and will destroy it. He is going to punish sin and the people that commit sin. Therefore, EVERYONE is in trouble. God’s anger is against us because of our sin.

What is the solution to that problem?

This is how God fixed the problem of evil and sin: Jesus died, was buried, and rose again.

First, we must understand that God is a trinity. Trinity means a “Tri-unity.” God is three persons and one being. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

God the Son is Jesus and he became a man and lived with humans. Jesus never did anything wrong. He never sinned. He was perfect. He did many miracles to show that he was from God. The religious people of Jesus’ day hated him and wanted him killed. They got what they wanted and Jesus was killed on a cross. When Jesus was dying on the cross, he was actually being punished for sins.

Jesus’ body was buried and then on the third day he rose from the dead proving he was God and that he destroyed sin. God fixed the problem of evil and sin when Jesus died, was buried, and rose again.

How can I be a part of the solution?

Just because Jesus did this, does not mean your problem is fixed. You must have faith and you must repent. Faith means “trust” and repent means “turn around.”

First, you must trust that Jesus destroyed your sins when he died on the cross. You have to believe. If you do not believe and trust Jesus, then your sin problem will not be fixed. You will stay under the anger of God. You will remain an enemy of God. Please, trust Jesus to rescue you from the punishment of sins.

Secondly, you must turn away from your sins and turn to God. This takes our entire life time to complete. God slowly gives us a hatred of sin. We start to hate the same things that God hates. Also, God gives us a greater love for him. He changes our hearts so that we want him more than anything else in the entire world. You see, this is where practical transformation happens in a Christian’s life. You will begin to hate evil and begin to love good. This transforms your behavior.
